Please be aware of the following NYC DOT participant requirements as part of the Transit Tech Lab. Please note these may differ from the other transit agency requirements. If selected by NYC DOT to test a technology solution, your company acknowledges and agrees to the following requirements:
During the standard 8-week Proof of Concept Phase, DOT will select companies to share more information about their product and work with selected companies to determine if a pilot is viable.
DOT may select up to three of the most promising technology companies for a subsequent “pilot test”.
The pilot tests will be procured as a micro-purchase.
Each selected company will sign a pilot test agreement with DOT. This is a modified version of the City Law Department’s pre-approved demonstration agreement and should be accepted with no legal modifications.
Each selected start-up company must have the appropriate insurance and indemnifications if the pilot test occurs in the city right of way.
Selected companies shall be aware of the following limitations at the conclusion the pilot test:
a) DOT does not have legal authority to directly procure products or services from any participating company at the conclusion of the pilot test; and
b) Depending on the outcomes of the pilot test, DOT may consider issuing a competitive solicitation.
